Background and Training Highlights (detailed list of training is available upon request):
Dr. Michelle Babcock is a board-eligible clinical neuropsychologist with over 10 years of experience in clinical care. Dr. Babcock began her career as a master-level psychotherapist working with culturally diverse populations and the underprivileged. She decided to return to school and obtained a Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology at Antioch University Seattle in 2021. During graduate school, Dr. Babcock focused on psychological and neuropsychological assessments and became captivated by the relationship between the brain and behavior.
She wanted to understand why humans behave in a certain way and passionately looked to neuropsychology to find answers.
Following a clinical internship at the VA Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care System serving Veterans, she completed an APPCN-accredited two-year postdoctoral fellowship in neuropsychology at the University of Toledo Medical Center Department of Psychiatry and Rehabilitative Medicine. During post-doctoral training, Dr. Babcock worked with ages 7 and older in outpatient and inpatient settings and acquired distinctive training in neuroscience, neuroanatomy, neuropathology, and neuroimaging. She also participated in Wada evaluations, worked within interdisciplinary clinics for pediatric patients with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, and taught neuropsychology to medical students and licensed physicians. Dr. Babcock’s research experience includes social privilege awareness and the development of a performance validity measure specialized for maximizing diagnostic accuracy of Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder. Moreover, she holds research interests in neurodegenerative diseases, measures of test engagement, and advancing neuropsychological tests.
